Hello Friends! ​I am Morton the Bear

​I currently reside in Oxford, England, with my Human, Mary Helen, her partner, and a cat. The household is generally satisfactory, although the cat remains difficult to manage.

​

​I have accompanied my Human through several countries, multiple academic qualifications, an extensive artistic practice, and the accumulation of more than 1,000 books. I have therefore developed considerable expertise in travel, domestic life, and the supervision of people who insist they are “just going to read one more chapter.”

​

​My duties include providing moral support, overseeing important activities, appearing in photographs, and ensuring that my Human does not become excessively absorbed in work. I take these responsibilities seriously.

​I have no formal academic qualifications, despite living with someone who appears determined to acquire as many as possible. I consider this an administrative oversight.

​

​I am available for selected photographic appearances, ceremonial occasions, and general bear-related consultation.
